Koo Bhangra (The Unloved) and Chris Denner (Jericho 1) come together for the second time to combine cutting-edge photography with inventive graphic illustration for their contemporary take on the renaissance.
Building upon the success of their last exhibition ( The Unloved V Jericho 1: Portraits ) Sins, is their next self initiated project. Continuing with their practice of tackling traditional art styles, this time there subject is the renaissance, particularly the theme of the seven deadly sins.
Sins, brought up to date, and modernised for the i-pod generation, told during the events of a party. Based around a central protagonist (Leicester model Kasey LeGall) each sin is reinterpreted and presented as part of this exclusive seven piece collection. Sins was inspired by high-end fashion photography and modern graphic design.
Working on location for the first time with a cast of professional models, make-up artists, stylists and hairdressers, Sins sees Bhangra and Denner continuing to explore their respective disciplines through uniquely creative collaborations.
Where Portraits had references to the urban art scene, portrait photography and cartoon animation, Sins was inspired by high end fashion photography and modern graphic design and is the complete visual opposite of Portraits.
